Kolkata's celebrations range from traditional Bengali weddings in community halls to large banquets in Salt Lake and New Town, with decorators and caterers known for regional specialities. On this page: event decorators for weddings, receptions, engagements, birthdays and corporate events.
Decoration turns a bare hall into the setting people photograph. The best decorators work backwards from the venue, the guest flow and the photographs, and tell you plainly what the budget can and cannot cover.
Eventry currently lists 10 event decorators serving Kolkata, covering Ballygunge, Behala, Bidhannagar / Sector 1, Bidhannagar / Sector 3, Boral, Rajpur Sonarpur, and Dum Dum. Typical services include floral decor, theme and backdrop design, lighting accents, and balloon decor.

How to choose an event decorator in Kolkata
- Ask for a mood board or 3D mock-up of the stage and entrance before you pay the advance.
- Ask what is rented and what you keep, such as props, backdrops and floral pieces.
- Get the inventory list in writing so you can match what was promised with what is delivered.
- Discuss a backup plan for weather or last-minute changes, especially for open-air events.
- Look at completed events at venues like yours rather than only styled photo shoots.
- Confirm venue rules on outside caterers and decorators well in advance; some community halls have fixed vendor panels.

What is included in event decoration packages in Kolkata?
A typical package covers the stage or mandap, entrance, photo backdrop and seating or aisle styling. Lighting, flowers and props may be quoted separately, so ask for an itemised list that lets you compare quotes fairly.
Should I choose fresh or artificial flowers?
Fresh flowers look and smell better but cost more and depend on seasonal supply. Artificial flowers last through long events and weather but can look flat in photographs. Many decorators combine the two.
How early should I finalise the decoration?
For large events, lock the theme and budget at least a month ahead so the decorator can source materials and plan the build. For peak dates, book earlier.
